The China PRC government created and controls Hikvision, facts Hikvision strives to obscure. Watch this 2-minute video to learn:
Hikvision markets that they “grew from a 28-person start-up in 2001.”
The reality is Hikvision was created by the China PRC government:
Specifically from its 52nd Research Institute, led by Chen Zongnian, still Hikvision Chairman.
Hikvision markets a “diverse set of private and public shareholders.”
The reality is that Hikvision’s own financials prove their controlling shareholder is “central-state owned.”
CETHIK, the China Electronics Technology HIK Group was explicitly created by the PRC government to run “HIK”vision.
CETHIK is run by Chairman Chen. Hikvision is also run by Chairman Chen.
For example, here is Chairman Chen presiding over a Hikvision Communist Party meeting, with his subordinate Mr. Hu at his side.
And in 2016, Hikvision touted its government control when it raised $400 million in debt, emphasizing “strong support from PRC government and our state-owned parent”:
Moreover, Hikvision touted how they received “substantial fiscal subsidies” from the PRC government.
Hikvision even admitted that its government control could “exert significant influence over our business and other matters of significance to us.”
Hikvision’s Chairman Chen was “excited and thankful” for a 2015 Xi Jinping visit, declaring Hikvision to be a “state- owned company.”
And, in 2018, the PRC government declared that: “Hikvision has resolutely implemented the spirit of the important instructions from General Secretary Xi Jinping.”
Likewise, Chairman Chen said Hikvision “followed Party leadership” and “deeply practiced” Xi Jinping’s ideas.
Chairman Chen has even joined the China national government, bringing even more power to State-controlled Hikvision.
While Hikvision’s overseas marketing aims to deceive, the facts are clear – Hikvision was created and has always been controlled by the China PRC government.
